BBC The One Show – Jordan Shelley
BBC’s The One Show drops ‘Fix your dog feature’
Last week The One Show had a feature called fix your dog with Jordan Shelley. Sadly the feature showed very outdated and out right cruel training methods with a totally stressed out Jack Russell.
This programme has set the dog world up in arms that dog training in mainstream media should show such cruel and dangerous methods, that should never be used. After many hundreds’ of complaints and internet campaigns also organisations like The Dogs Trust and the PDSA and all the Dog Training and Behaviour Organisations formal complaints, the BBC finally issued this statement:
“The One Show has thanked viewers for all their comments and criticisms which were taken very seriously. Last night the show featured various differing opinions plus advice from The One Show’s vet on the subject of dog training and care.
“There are currently no plans for this feature to return.”

What a relief, his methods were definitely do not try this at home that inflict fear, pain and stress! and it was lovely to see the dog world from all differing opinions united and working together. We all spend lots of time and energy working out how best to help a dog and owner, how not to set them up to fail and help them cope with life and enjoy it with out being aggressive and recognising the value of understanding how the dogs feels and thinks.
‘In order to enjoy a dog, you shouldn’t train him to be part human, but train yourself to be part dog.
